Art Journals

I have only just begun keeping an art journal...I took a Fun Art Journalling course through Artella that just finished and learned so much about how I deny myself the pleasure of my own work! That may sound odd, but it was the first time I was creating for my own enjoyment rather than for accolades or sales. It utterly changed what I did visually in a lot of ways. Here are a few pages I really enjoyed making.

WOW! Beautiful! I just bought myself some "journals" yesterday. I couldn't find anything booky that would work with pen and ink, so I got some spiral bound sketchpads with nice glossy paper for rapidograph. I started doodling this morning while waiting for my daughter at the doctor's office. I am trying to learn to sketch in the moment--my surroundings, my thoughts. I am like you Nici...always felt I had to produce to show myself worthy and now I'm trying to slow down and draw myself some roses!

I just don't get journaling. I freeze up when I think about it. I've tried books and even a class but just can't seem to do it. Odd, eh?

These pages are spectacular. Between you and Nicci, I've finally decided to try my hand at journaling again. I even bought the medium-sized Moleskine yesterday.
